The city of Hurst, Texas is located in the massively populated area in northeastern Tarrant County and is a part of the greater Dallas-Fort Worth Metro Area. Hurst was named after William Letchworth Hurst, also known as "Uncle Billy", who became popular in 1903 after convincing railroad builders to add a stop in his town as well as a route from Dallas to Fort Worth. This simple act of kindness paved the way to Hurst's growth as a modern city, and its strategic location to major metro areas. It is conveniently located close to airports, and 10 miles away from Fort Worth.
